WIP Wednesday: Knitting With Paper Yarn

knitting with paper yarn

I’m in Braunschweig currently, relaxing for a few days at my boyfriend’s place after a week full of moving related stress and being busy. The city has a lovely yarn shop named Stilblüte where I purchased some Ito and GGH yarns yesterday.

This is the first swatch I made on our way back, still in the car – I just couldn’t wait to start knitting with paper yarn.

The lower part (shown in brown) is made of Ito Yarns Wagami, a 100% paper yarn which shows a lovely texture knitted up. The upper (white) part is Ito Yarns Men, 100% recycled cotton.

Notice the difference in row gauge? I’m going to play with this setup to create an alternative version of an S-shaped shawl which will be shaped by this difference only, without the usage of any short rows.

Just started! What’s on your needles this week?
