An inconspicuous small brown box recently arrived at my doorstep – from Yarn Indulgences in Kitchener, Ontario. Opening unveiled the most beautiful collection of yarn I’ve seen in years: 17 (!) skeins of hand dyed natural fiber yarn – the yarn for Plant Anatomy has finally arrived!
The colors were specially designed for the Plant Anatomy project. Deborah did a fabulous job dyeing these beauties!
As you can see one hank has already been wound into a ball – I just started to knit the first swatches today.
All this yarn is dedicated to knitting the prototype (sample) shawls for the Plant Anatomy project.
This is your perfect chance to watch how I create a shawl pattern collection and the corresponding book compilation and publication process from start to finish in my upcoming article series The Making Of Plant Anatomy: Creating a Shawl Knitting Pattern Collection From Start to Finish.
Do you think the yarn and colorways are a good match for the overall project theme? What would you create from this lovely yarn? Let me know by leaving a comment!
